The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government has taken shape in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 Assembly elections, with multiple party MLAs confirmed as ministers, officials said Saturday. Portfolios for the newly elected legislators remain unannounced, as the party finalizes its cabinet structure.
N. Anand, alias 'Bussy' Anand, TVK general secretary and close aide of party founder C. Joseph Vijay, won from Theagaraya Nagar in Chennai and has been named a minister. He previously served as an MLA in Puducherry and led the Vijay Fans Association there. Aadhav Arjuna, TVK's election campaign chief and president of the Basketball Federation of India, secured the Villivakkam seat, despite controversy over a social media post suggesting youth unrest akin to uprisings in Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Former Indian Revenue Service officer K.G. Arunraaj, who resigned to join TVK as its propaganda and policy chief, won from Tiruchengodu. K.A. Sengottaiyan, a nine-time MLA and former AIADMK leader, retained Gobichettipalayam by over 16,600 votes after defecting to TVK in 2025. P. Venkataramanan, the party treasurer and long-time associate of C. Joseph Vijay, won from Mylapore, while C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, a former BJP and AIADMK IT wing official, triumphed in Thirupparankundram.
Political newcomer A. Rajmohan, a YouTuber and media personality, won from Egmore, and Dr. T.K. Prabhu, a dentist, won from Karaikudi. S. Keerthana, contesting for the first time with an M.Sc in statistics, defeated the Congress incumbent in Sivakasi by over 11,000 votes.
The Tamil Nadu Governor is expected to formally invite the TVK to form the government, with ministerial portfolios likely to be announced in the coming days. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for next week, officials confirmed.
