13 crore unique investors and 27 crore accounts gathered on Wednesday as Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD and CEO of the National Stock Exchange, rang the bell for the fifth time, signalling a new chapter in India’s capital markets.
The bell‑ringing ceremony, hosted at NSE’s GIFT City headquarters, was attended by a mix of seasoned traders, institutional players, and retail participants, reflecting the exchange’s broad reach across the country.
According to a statement released by NSE, the event highlighted the platform’s role in fostering market growth, with the 13 crore investors and 27 crore accounts driving liquidity and trading volumes across the index.
Chauhan said the growth potential remains significant as India’s capital markets mature, noting that the exchange is actively working to simplify access for new participants.
Looking ahead, NSE plans to enhance its digital platform and strengthen market infrastructure to support the expanding investor base, positioning itself to capture further upside as the broader market evolves.
