The deal lifted IRCON International’s shares by ₹0.10, a 0.096% rise, to ₹104.70 on the BSE as traders digested the new revenue stream.
The 862.46‑crore contract, awarded by East Central Railway, covers ballast supply, track laying, and ancillary works for the third and fourth lines of the Son Nagar‑Andal project over 365 days.
IRCON highlighted that the contract falls under a domestic works category and that neither the promoters nor any group companies hold any interest in the awarding entity, thereby sidestepping related‑party concerns.
In the same press release, the company noted its earlier ₹763‑crore Tripura power JV and a Q2 net profit dip of 34% to ₹137 crore, underscoring a diversification strategy amid a volatile earnings cycle.
Analysts now view the new contract as a key driver for IRCON’s 2026 revenue target of ₹25,000 crore, with the BSE-listed shares poised for incremental gains ahead of the next earnings report on July 15.
