On Monday, FIIs sold ₹10,787 crore worth of shares, while DIIs bought ₹17,389 crore. The net outflow for FIIs was ₹1,462 crore, whereas DIIs posted a net inflow of ₹2,610 crore. These figures are slightly less than the week‑long FII outflow of ₹2,697 crore, indicating a modest easing in foreign selling pressure.
The Nifty closed at 22,753, up 153 points, breaking the 22,750 threshold for the first time since early September. The Sensex ended at 73,607, gaining 483 points and reaching a new intraday high.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories topped the Nifty gains, leaping nearly 7% after a solid Q2 earnings beat and a bullish brokerage note. Shriram Finance slid about 5% after trimming its assets‑under‑management growth outlook, while IT names like Coforge jumped almost 5% and Infosys edged up 1%, despite missing Q2 revenue expectations.
The midcap index surged 665 points to 56,465, and the Nifty Bank index added 79 points to 54,367, reflecting a broadly positive sentiment across sectors. The BSE index rose 4% on a supportive brokerage note, underscoring the overall strength.
DIIs’ weekly net purchases reached ₹10,942 crore, a 3.6% increase from the prior week, while FIIs remained net sellers, offloading ₹2,697 crore across four sessions. This pattern shows DIIs continuing to back the market despite persistent FII outflows.
Looking ahead, traders will monitor the next week’s FII activity, especially after the RBI’s upcoming policy meeting. If DIIs maintain their buying momentum and FIIs ease their selling, the Nifty could aim for a mid‑20,000s breakout. Market watchers will also keep an eye on the upcoming corporate earnings calendar and any geopolitical shifts that might influence investor sentiment.
