The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK)'s official X handle was suspended on Friday due to an alleged violation of X rules, shortly after a post emerged backing actor-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for a possible coalition government in Tamil Nadu. The suspension has fueled further speculation over the ongoing negotiations between major Dravidian parties and emerging political forces.
The VCK had won two seats in the 2026 Assembly elections, while TVK won 108 seats and is seeking support from smaller parties to reach the 118-seat majority in the 234-seat Assembly.
The CPI, CPI(M), and Congress have already extended their support to the Vijay-led TVK, paving the way for a potential change in the state's government.
If Vijay takes oath as Chief Minister on Saturday, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. The court will not be involved in this matter, but the Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will play a crucial role in the formation of the government. The next step will be the swearing-in ceremony, where Vijay is expected to take oath as Chief Minister.
