GPT Infra’s Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited announced it has won a ₹134.11 crore rail‑signalling order from Western Railway’s Ratlam Division, the filing said. The deal, which includes GST, covers survey, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 4‑Aspect Automatic Block Signalling with electronic interlocking and dual multi‑section digital axle counters across several double‑line sections, and is slated to be completed in 548 days from the appointed date.
The contract boosts GPT Infra’s net outstanding order book to ₹5,651 crore, up from ₹5,400 crore at the end of the last fiscal year. Total order inflow for FY27 stands at ₹1,478 crore, a 12% rise over the prior year’s ₹1,326 crore, according to the company’s filing.
GPT Infra operates through two segments: infrastructure and sleepers. The infrastructure arm handles civil and signalling projects such as bridges, road‑over‑bridges and the new railway work, while the sleeper unit produces concrete sleepers for Indian and African railways out of West Bengal, South Africa, Namibia and Ghana.
Market reaction was modest but positive. The stock closed up about 1% in green, adding to a 15% gain so far this year. Analysts note the order is a significant win in a sector currently seeing a 9% increase in rail‑signalling contracts across India.
Looking ahead, GPT Infra is slated to report FY24 results on May 31. Investors will be watching for guidance on future order inflows and whether the company will maintain its order‑book momentum amid competitive bids in the rail‑infrastructure space.
