For contractors hunting a robust yet efficient backhoe, JCB India’s new 3DX model comes with a 440‑Nm torque and a 21‑percent lift in fuel economy.
The 3DX sits at the base, the 3DX Plus ups the shovel size and payload, and the 3DX Super adds four‑wheel drive, a six‑in‑one shovel, deeper digging, and a revamped cab with a rotary dial, upgraded displays, a new seat and a mobile charging point.
Not only are backhoes getting a makeover, but JCB also dropped the 150 FM excavator—its 0.75 cu.m bucket and in‑cab fuel monitoring shave 8‑percent off fuel use. The 225 XT, with a wider frame and a 1.1 cu.m bucket, promises a 5‑percent boost in productivity per dig cycle. The 18Z mini, built on a zero‑tail‑swing chassis, is a tight‑space specialist.
The wheel‑loader line gets a punch with the 475‑5, powered by a 320‑HP Cummins engine and a ZF Ergo II transmission that senses load and tweaks hydraulics on the fly. And for the heavy‑end, the 520X LC—India’s first 50‑tonne excavator—boasts a 400‑HP power pack and a 3.4 cu.m bucket.
All of this comes from JCB’s six plants in India, a network of 65 dealers and 700 outlets that employ nearly 8,000 people. The company’s LiveLink platform, showcased in the pavilion, lets operators monitor machines in real time, run diagnostics and schedule predictive maintenance, all of which cut downtime and save money in the long run.
The machines were unveiled at bauma CONEXPO India 2026 in Greater Noida, and JCB says deliveries will begin in Q4 2026, with the first units rolling out to the field in early 2027. Keep an eye on the next trade fair for updates on pricing and regional availability.
