Shetty Institute of Technology in Kalaburagi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) iON on Saturday to introduce an industry-focused placement training programme. The programme aims to enhance students’ employability and skill development, and the institute is among only two colleges in Karnataka selected for the prestigious TCS iON Industry-Focused Placement Training Programme.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil as the chief guest, and the agreement was formally signed in the presence of TCS iON representatives.
According to the institute’s chairman, Udayshankar Shetty, the collaboration is expected to strengthen industry-academia interaction and provide students with training aligned to current corporate requirements.
The institute’s directors and principal were also present at the ceremony. The next steps will involve the implementation of the training programme, with the institute expecting to see improved placement opportunities for its students. The TCS iON representatives will work closely with the institute to provide industry-oriented training modules.
