Three men opened fire on Bollywood star Tiger Shroff near Andheri West railway station on Sunday evening, shooting seven rounds before fleeing on a motorcycle and then a train to Jaipur. The trio—22‑year‑old Hritik alias Roshan from Begusarai, 18‑year‑old Rehan from Sonipat, and 18‑year‑old Phool Singh from Haryana—were promised a collective advance of ₹50,000 to carry out the hit, with further payments to follow upon success.
The attackers received the money in multiple small instalments, a tactic investigators say was designed to obscure the trail. Sources inside the Mumbai Crime Branch confirm that a handler lured the men with the prospect of an overseas job and financial gains, positioning them as pawns in a larger gang plot.
Anil Pandit, an associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, reportedly communicated with the attackers. In an audio clip that surfaced online, Pandit claimed responsibility for the hit, warning that those who work without aligning with the gang would face retaliation.
Police traced the attackers’ escape route using CCTV footage and technical analysis, following the abandoned bike near Andheri West station to the Pune‑Jaipur Express. Deputy Commissioner Raj Tilak Roushan told reporters that the trio was intercepted on Monday morning in Kota, Rajasthan, while attempting to flee to Nepal.
The arrest leaves the investigation into the handler and the alleged recruitment network open. Police will now probe how the ₹50,000 advance was disbursed and whether other associates are implicated.
