The RBI and government moved swiftly to stabilise markets, while the recent correction has already priced in most global risks—creating a window for value‑oriented plays.
Sanjay Parekh, founder and CIO of Sohum Asset Managers, said the firm has increased its equity allocation, noting that domestic fundamentals remain resilient. He highlighted that the Jio Platforms IPO offers reasonable valuations for a business evolving into a digital technology platform rather than a pure telecom operator.
Parekh’s internal models flag upside of 20–25% or more in largecap stocks across financial services, telecom, and diversified conglomerates. He attributes this gap to heavy selling by global investors and comparatively lower domestic institutional flows.
Rather than chasing the exact market bottom, the fund is deploying cash gradually, aiming to capture long‑term value without timing the market.
Investors looking at a 1–3 year horizon can tap Jio’s software, enterprise solutions, and digital ecosystem, which the firm believes will become significant revenue drivers beyond connectivity.
