The U.S. market opened higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones up 212 points, the S&P 500 up 0.3% and the Nasdaq up 0.4%.
The rally was underpinned by Anthropic’s public filing for an IPO, which revealed $16.29 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026 versus $1.16 billion a year earlier, and a net loss of $80.75 billion—data pulled directly from the SEC filing.
Chipmakers led the tech rally: Nvidia surged 1.4%, Micron climbed 2.3%, Broadcom added 1.5% and AMD gained 1.3%, all riding the AI‑trade wave that Anthropic’s filing has reinvigorated.
Oil prices eased—Brent fell 1.4% to $115.02 a barrel, while WTI slid 2% to $101.01—offering relief to energy‑sensitive sectors and easing inflationary pressure concerns.
Investors are now eyeing a busy earnings week and the Federal Reserve’s Wednesday policy decision, with futures pointing to a 90% probability that rates will remain unchanged at the 3.75%–4% target range.
