Unidentified intruders broke into the Second ACMM Court and a Mobile Court located within the Principal District Court complex in Ongole on Thursday night, forcing open locked doors and an iron safe in the court hall. The break-in occurred around midnight, targeting a locker where sensitive court documents were stored.
Ongole Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) R. Srinivasa Rao confirmed the incident, stating that the suspects likely attempted to steal specific documents but failed to locate them. Investigators believe the intruders fled in haste after not finding what they sought.
Court staff conducted an initial assessment and reported no documents or valuables missing from the premises. Security footage and forensic teams are being reviewed as part of the ongoing probe.
Police have launched a full investigation into the breach, which raises concerns over the security of judicial records. The court will remain under heightened surveillance while authorities pursue leads.
