
Saudi Arabian authorities reported missile and drone attacks on Jazan and Najran airports on Monday night, injuring three.
The strikes came as Saudi-backed Yemeni troops push closer to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, forcing the Houthi movement to widen its campaign beyond Yemen.
King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport sustained minor structural damage, with runway lights temporarily disabled. The General Authority of Civil Aviation said it has deployed emergency crews and is conducting a full safety audit.
Saudi defence minister General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al‑Shehri warned that the attacks signal an escalation and urged regional partners to prepare for potential spill‑over.
Authorities have activated the Mecca defence pact, coordinating with Pakistan and Turkey, and will hold a joint military exercise next week.
