District Legal Services Authority Promotes Special Lok Adalat for Case Settlements
The District Legal Services Authority has called on litigants and advocates to participate in a Special Lok Adalat scheduled for August 21, 22, and 23, 2026, under the Supreme Court's 'Samadhan Samaroh' initiative aimed at fast-tracking dispute resolution. The event will focus on settling pending cases through mediation and mutual agreement between parties.
A statement issued Wednesday said litigants must submit case details using a designated Google Form available on the Supreme Court's official website, https://www.sci.gov.in. The deadline for submission is May 31, 2026.
The Special Lok Adalat is part of a nationwide effort to reduce case backlogs in Indian courts. Similar drives have previously led to the resolution of thousands of cases in single-day sittings.
The court will review submissions ahead of the August hearing dates, with final proceedings to be conducted in district centers across the country.
