The ground-breaking ceremony for the Courtyard by Marriott hotel project was held at Lingayapalem village in Amaravati on Friday, with Ministers Kandula Durgesh and T.G. Bharath, among others, laying the foundation stone. The project, being developed by Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts Private Limited, marks the commencement of construction works for the international-standard hospitality facility.
The hotel will come up on a two-acre site allotted by the government in 2019 and is expected to feature two 10-storey towers with 176 rooms, luxury residences, and various amenities. Construction is expected to begin within six months and be completed in about two-and-a-half years, with the hotel targeted to become fully operational by 2029.
The project is expected to create around 600 direct and indirect employment opportunities, according to Southern Travels Director Krishna Mohan Alapati.
The court or relevant authorities have not issued any statements regarding the project, but the Andhra Pradesh government is expected to monitor the project's progress and provide necessary support. The next steps for the project include the commencement of construction works within the specified timeframe.
