Heavy Security, 2,000 Police Deployed for PM Modi's Rally at Secunderabad's Parade Ground

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public rally at Secunderabad’s Parade Ground on May 10, 2026, will be protected by a security grid involving over 2,000 police personnel, sniper teams, bomb disposal squads, and 150 CCTV cameras, as authorities prepare for an expected 70,000 attendees. The event, part of the 'Chalo Parade Ground' campaign, prompted city-wide traffic and surveillance measures across Hyderabad, with the police establishing a command center inside the venue.
Workers completed 80–90% of stage, seating, and gallery installations by May 8, as police finalized entry points, parking zones, and rooftop surveillance controls. Anti-sabotage units, dog squads, and special response teams will be stationed throughout the area, with Hyderabad Metro stations and elevated structures near the ground to be screened to prevent unauthorized observation.
Traffic authorities have designated 10 major parking sites, including Bison Polo and Wesley Grounds, for 2,000 buses transporting supporters from across Telangana, while QR-coded signage will guide attendees to designated drop zones. Nearly 500 traffic personnel will manage flow, with temporary diversions planned during Modi’s transit between Begumpet airport and the venue; a dedicated emergency corridor will be tested during the Telangana Chief Minister’s convoy movement on May 7.
Airspace restrictions remain in force, though police are seeking permission for limited drone surveillance. Metro Rail operations near the venue may be adjusted Sunday evening based on crowd density and security assessments.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Begumpet airport Sunday morning, attend events in Hitec City, and reach the Parade Ground by 6 p.m. Police will conduct final security sweeps and traffic dry runs through Saturday, with full deployment expected by early Sunday morning.
