The Indian Red Cross Society held a mega blood donation camp at the Red Cross Building in Maharani Peta on Friday to mark World Red Cross Day and Thalassemia Day. Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari attended the programme, hoisted the Red Cross flag, and paid floral tributes to Red Cross founder Henry Dunant.
The camp included the visit of Ms. Vidyadhari to the newly opened diagnostic laboratory and the thalassemia unit, where she interacted with children.
Indian Red Cross Society chairman C. Balasatish stated that the diagnostic laboratory was offering services at affordable rates aimed at benefiting Below Poverty Line families.
Fifteen donors who had donated blood more than 50 times were presented appreciation certificates, and several district officials and Red Cross staff participated in the programme.
The court is not involved in this case, however, the Indian Red Cross Society will continue to provide its services, and the diagnostic laboratory will remain open to provide affordable services to the community. The Red Cross Society will also continue to organize blood donation camps in the future.
