Sanju Samson has addressed speculation about his role at Chennai Super Kings, stating he is fully committed to playing under skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. Samson, who joined CSK from Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2026, has scored 430 runs in 11 innings at an average of 53.75 and a strike rate of 169.29.
Speaking on the Super Kings podcast, Samson said, 'I am here to play for my team. I’ll play for my captain Ruturaj. I’ll play for my coach Stephen Fleming.' Samson also revealed a strong bond with Gaikwad, both on and off the field.
CSK recently registered their third consecutive win, defeating Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets at Chepauk on Sunday, with Urvil Patel scoring a record 13-ball fifty.
The win lifted the five-time champions to fifth place and kept their playoff hopes alive. The team will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming matches, with Samson expected to continue playing a key role under Gaikwad's captaincy.
