DMK Parliamentary Party leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting suitable changes in the seating arrangement of DMK MPs in the House due to the end of their alliance with the Indian National Congress. The letter states that it may not be appropriate for DMK members to continue occupying the present seating arrangement alongside Congress members.
Ms. Kanimozhi has requested separate seating arrangements for DMK members to enable them to effectively discharge their parliamentary responsibilities.
The request was made in view of the changed political circumstances after the DMK ended its alliance with the Congress.
The Lok Sabha Speaker's office will likely review the request and make necessary arrangements, with the next steps expected to be announced in the coming days. The development is seen as a formal step by the DMK to distance itself from the Congress after the end of their alliance.
