Delhi Police on 28 October 2026 arrested four men—Imran Khan, Samad Khan, Tasleem Raja and Ankit Sain—linked to a sextortion ring that siphoned more than Rs 1 crore from victims across Rajasthan and Punjab. The arrests followed a sweep of the Mewat region.
The ring preyed on Manjeet Singh, a Gurdwara sewadar in Deeg district, who received a pre‑recorded obscene video on WhatsApp that made it appear live, and was then threatened by fraudsters posing as Gurgaon Police and YouTube officials. Under duress, he wired Rs 14.63 lakh through his own and his nephew’s bank accounts.
Police traced the money through 15 suspected mule accounts, recovered three mobile phones and six SIM cards, and found the fraud orchestrated using the 'Friends Search' app to target numbers in the Mewat region. Technical evidence linked the accounts to villages in Deeg district.
Imran Khan, 28, from Jurhera, allegedly arranged the Axis Bank account for Ankit Sain and handled SIM card provisioning, while Samad and Tasleem, both from Ludhiana, were recruited through the online game PUBG and helped open mule accounts. Yasir, an unnamed member, impersonated police in the calls.
The investigation, which examined call detail records, IMEI data, IP logs and financial transactions, is now focusing on locating further victims and mapping the full money trail, with prosecutors preparing charges under the Information Technology Act.
