Apax Partners has pushed $10 billion of value into India’s market over two decades, a figure that dwarfs most peer‑group returns in the region.
Foreign portfolio investors have pulled out several billion dollars from Indian equities, sparking concerns about the country’s appeal to global capital.
"We see opportunity. We're longer‑term investors," said Mitch Truwit, Co‑CEO of Apax Partners, noting that slower GDP growth and inflation dampen near‑term enthusiasm.
Harjot Dhaliwal, Partner and Head of India, added that consumer trends—clean‑label foods, health‑and‑wellness products—are driving brand‑building opportunities.
The firm is also targeting technology firms that help traditional enterprises adopt AI, improving productivity and opening new revenue streams.
Looking ahead, Apax plans to deepen its stake in consumer and technology platforms, focusing on AI‑enabled services that can scale across the formalising Indian economy.
