Autopsy Reveals Chandranath Rath Died from Excessive Blood Loss and Bullet Injuries
Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant to senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead by bike-borne assailants in West Bengal's Madhyamgram town on Wednesday. According to the autopsy report, Rath died from excessive blood loss and bullet injuries to the heart, with multiple organ failures also reported.
The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Wednesday, when Rath's vehicle was intercepted near Doltala in Madhyamgram, and he was shot at point-blank range. Eyewitnesses claimed that a small four-wheeler had blocked Rath's vehicle near Doharia junction before the motorcycle rider approached and started firing.
Suvendu Adhikari expressed confidence that the police would solve the murder, saying investigators were heading in the right direction. Adhikari also claimed that the police were capable of solving cases but alleged that they were not allowed to do so earlier.
The police investigation is ongoing, with the CID, forensic, and SIT teams involved. Senior BJP leaders have visited Rath's residence, and the family will decide on the last rites after the completion of the post-mortem examination. The police deployment has been enhanced around the hospital and Rath's residence to prevent any flare-up.
The case will likely see further developments in the coming days, with the police expected to provide updates on their investigation. The court may also be involved in the case, although no official announcements have been made yet.
