Corky's Kitchen & Bakery pulled in $75,000 from more than 60,000 gold‑ribbon and regular cookies sold across its 13 California outlets in September 2026, beating the previous year’s $51,000 by 48%.
The haul comes after the chain's director of operations, Darin Handlen, said the team had targeted a 10% lift over 2025 but the final tally surpassed expectations, thanks in part to an 208‑pound spread of gold sprinkles.
Hospital officials, including director of patient care Scarlett Czarnecki, confirmed that the money will revamp the Beads of Courage program—a celebration of pediatric oncology patients' journeys—scheduled to roll out in early 2027.
Corky's has also run cookie‑decorating workshops for patients and an Art for Cancer initiative, extending the charity beyond the fundraiser.
The 11‑year Cookies for Cancer campaign has now raised over $315,000 for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, with the September run marking the largest contribution to date.
