Naidu Orders Clearance of APIIC Lands, Boost to MSMEs and Solar Expansion

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday ordered District Collectors to immediately clear land allotment issues for the MSME sector by removing APIIC-owned plots listed under Section 22A, directing the Registration Department to process these through respective Inspector-Generals. He emphasized that MSMEs are the state's largest employment generators and must be supported through swift resolution of administrative hurdles.
Naidu announced integration of rooftop solar systems with the PM Kusum scheme, mandating solar panel installation on all government buildings, schools, and colleges to reduce power costs. He projected significant gains from deploying solar systems for 22 lakh agricultural pump sets and highlighted ongoing infrastructure growth, including 64 National Highway projects worth over 21 lakh crore and 624 railway projects valued at 264,000 crore.
The Chief Minister outlined advancements in technology, citing the establishment of a Quantum Reference Facility in Amaravati and the arrival of Google Cloud AI Hub, which has attracted Carrier to set up chiller manufacturing for data centres and quantum computing. He urged districts to develop products into national and global brands, similar to Araku Coffee, to reduce import dependence and retain economic value within the state.
Anticipating below-normal rainfall due to El Ni03o, Naidu directed Collectors to prepare water management plans for rainfed and dryland farming, ensure fodder availability for livestock, and instructed the Forest Department to accelerate afforestation. He appointed District Collectors as governance mentors to implement best practices and improve transport efficiency, noting rail's cost advantage over road freight.
The government will monitor compliance with land clearance and solar installation targets through the next Collectors' review meeting, scheduled for May 21, 2026.
