Telangana Sizzles as Temperatures Soar to 46°C
Telangana is witnessing a severe heatwave, with temperatures crossing 44°C in the third week of April and nearing 45°C. The maximum temperature reached 46°C in Nizamabad on April 27, 2026, with 12 districts recording temperatures between 45°C and 46°C.
The Health department has issued an advisory on precautions to take during the heatwave, while the Revenue (Disaster Management) department has issued a memo on steps to be taken by Collectors and other departments to protect people from the hot weather.
According to the India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre, a marginal drop in temperatures may be observed in the fourth week of April, with forecast thunderstorms in various parts of the state till Saturday.
The state government's measures are aimed at preventing heat strokes and protecting the public from the extreme heat. The situation is being closely monitored, and further updates are expected in the coming days.
