Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani said on Sunday the Adani Group will generate 120,000 jobs in Madhya Pradesh by 2030 through a Rs 110,000 crore investment in sectors including cement, mining, thermal energy, smart meters, and hydro pumped storage. He made the announcement at the inauguration of the group's new cement plant in Guna, in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Adani said the investment pledge was made by Group Chairman Gautam Adani during the 2023 Global Investors Summit in Bhopal. The Guna cement project, part of this commitment, will be executed in two phases with a combined annual capacity of 40 lakh metric tonnes and an investment of over Rs 1,060 crore—the largest in the district's history. Phase One is scheduled for commissioning by 2028.
The Guna plant is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to about 1,500 people and contribute over Rs 6,000 crore to the state's exchequer. Adani also noted the group's existing investments, including over Rs 4,000 crore in power plants at Katni, and ongoing wind energy projects in Dhar, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Lahori. Adani Power currently supplies 1,200 megawatts to the state, with plans to add 5,600 megawatts.
Adani Cement, with an installed capacity of 109 million tonnes per annum, is expanding its production and supply network across central India. A foundation stone for another cement plant in Ujjain will be laid soon, the company said.
The Adani Group will proceed with project execution in Guna with focus on environmental standards, speed, and quality. The next phase of development, including construction milestones and additional plant foundations, is expected to begin in the coming months.
