Two persons, identified as Devender, 45, and Surender, 50, of Jammikunta, were killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a bullock cart on a narrow stretch of road in Valbapur village, Veenavanka mandal, Karimnagar district, on Thursday night. The deceased were returning to Jammikunta on their motorcycle from Veenavanka when the accident occurred.
The Veenavanka police have registered a case and are investigating the incident, which is alleged to have been caused by the stacking of paddy grains on the roadside.
According to sources, the practice of using roads to dry harvested paddy grains is resulting in frequent accidents on the Jammikunta-Veenavanka main road, causing serious concern among motorists.
