Goa Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Goel confirmed that 97 voters, mistakenly left out of the February 2026 final electoral roll, are now being enrolled through house‑to‑house visits.
The voters had been cleared by local Electoral Registration Officers and marked eligible during the Special Intensive Revision, but the central ECINet system in Delhi failed to allow the EROs to reverse earlier deletion decisions.
Goel had sent eight emails over seven days demanding a rollback facility, and the Deputy Election Commissioner ordered the IT division to enable the correction, but the request was denied before the roll was published.
In a statement issued Thursday, Goel said BLOS teams had processed the 97 cases, enrolling many, and the remaining are still being handled, with the promise that no eligible elector will be left behind.
The issue has drawn criticism from opposition parties, who accused the Election Commission of administrative failure amid scrutiny over other controversies involving Commissioners Vivek Joshi and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.
The remaining enrolments will be completed before the upcoming Goa state elections slated for March 2027, and the Election Commission has pledged to review its IT protocols to prevent a repeat.
