Richa Parashar, a freelance journalist for Oneindia, stood on the Supreme Court steps in New Delhi on 13 October 2026, hoping to capture Rahul Gandhi as he left the courthouse. She says Gandhi, accompanied by bodyguards, grabbed her hand, yanked her forward, and she fell face‑first onto the stone, her belly striking the pavement.
Parashar, who is now three months pregnant, filed a complaint with the Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police, naming assault, voluntary hurt and endangerment in the charge sheet.
Congress spokesperson Alka Lamba called the video a propaganda stunt, while BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari slammed Gandhi as a “goon” and warned of a political backlash.
Delhi Police have opened an inquiry and are expected to register an FIR within 24 hours, but the case will still require a court order to proceed.
If the investigation confirms the allegations, Rahul Gandhi could face criminal charges, a development that would send shockwaves through the opposition and the ruling party alike.
