In the span of 14 days, 10‑year‑old Graham Haskin sold 100 handmade bracelets, amassing $400 to purchase essential items for Valdosta’s low‑income population.
Lowndes Associated Ministries to People Inc. (LAMP) operates the New Horizons Shelter and Day Center, distributing food, bottled water, toilet paper and cleaning supplies to residents in need.
Justin and Ansley Haskin helped their son craft and market the bracelets, citing the desire to emulate Jesus as the catalyst for the project.
LAMP’s director welcomed the donation, noting that the new supplies will fill a critical gap in the shelter’s inventory.
A woman who stays at LAMP said the extra toilet paper will make her daily routine less stressful, and that the food and water purchased will help her maintain a healthier diet.
Haskin plans to expand the bracelet line next month, hoping to inspire other children in the community to contribute.
