MOIL shares opened the session on the NSE with a 2.09% decline, closing at ₹232.79 after the company disclosed a 5% hike in manganese ore prices effective from October 1.
The price revision applies to all ferro grades, both those with manganese content above and below 44%, and extends to SMGR grades and fines.
EMD pricing remains unchanged, with electrolytic manganese dioxide set at ₹1,80,000 per tonne and EMD flakes at ₹1,71,000 per tonne for the same month.
The company stated that the adjustment follows its routine practice of periodic price revisions; analysts suggest the move could tighten margins for purchasers but may lift MOIL’s revenue per pound of ore.
No forward guidance has been released; investors will watch the October‑December 2026 quarterly report to gauge the effect of the hike on profitability.
