A suicide bomber detonated an explosives‑laden vehicle at a police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan, killing 11 and wounding 30, police and rescue officials reported.
The attack came amid a string of terror incidents in the district last month, including a vehicle‑bombing of a mosque in Kohat that killed 21 and injured 78.
Two customs and excise officials were among the dead, and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where several patients remain in critical condition.
Tehrik‑e‑Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility, noting its affiliation with the Afghan Taliban that returned to power in 2021.
