Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the youngest player to score a century in the IPL, has continued to impress in the 2026 season, scoring one century, two fifties, and over 400 runs so far. According to his mentor, Zubin Bharucha, the Rajasthan Royals franchise started working on Sooryavanshi's game from the moment they first spotted him, tracking everything from his bat speed and swing speed to his impact points.
Bharucha explained that the franchise used various training methods, including heavy bats, outfield drills, and multiple-layered sequencing drills, to improve Sooryavanshi's bat speed and ball-striking ability.
Sooryavanshi's bat swing speed increased from 92-95 kmph to nearly 110-115 kmph within three to four months, a significant improvement.
The franchise also worked on balancing Sooryavanshi's shot selection, as he initially relied more on off-side shots.
The Rajasthan Royals will continue to support Sooryavanshi as the IPL 2026 season progresses, with the team's next match scheduled for later this week.
