If you thought the 2019 blockbuster was the peak, think again—Nitesh Tiwari’s latest screams louder than the trailers. Ranbir Kapoor steps into the sandals of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi wields Sita’s dignity, and Yash turns into a fiery Ravana, while Anupam Kher, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and Vivek Oberoi add spice to the mix.
The advance haul swelled to ₹13.14 crore across India, eclipsing every pre‑release tally since 2015. 2.43 lakh tickets have gone through the sales portal, with the Hindi version alone raking in ₹11.34 crore. Kannada fans brought in ₹1.38 crore, Telugu crowds added ₹42.33 lakh, and the NCR leads with ₹2.62 crore from 35,085 tickets. Mumbai follows at ₹1.94 crore, Bengaluru at ₹1.75 crore, Hyderabad’s 22,024 tickets amount to ₹78.16 lakh, and Pune’s 8,189 sales net ₹57.01 lakh.
Scheduled for 28 October, the film will end on a cliffhanger that will leave audiences clutching their seats. The makers have already promised a Part 2 slated for 2027, ensuring the saga stretches over two cinematic chapters.
In an interview with IGN, Tiwari explained, “Ramayana is a linear story, and where we leave in Part 1 is something you can call a cliffhanger that makes people want to watch Part 2 the moment they leave the theatre.” He added that the epic’s narrative demands two parts, and the first will end where “the story wants to leave you on a sweet, aching pause.”
With a powerhouse lineup that includes Anupam Kher, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and Vivek Oberoi, Ramayana is not just a retelling; it’s a cinematic banquet, promising to deliver myth with a modern pulse.
