The pro‑government rally in Assam’s Nalbari Assembly constituency on Tuesday was led by BJP leaders, including local MLA Jayanta Mallabaruah, State BJP president Dilip Saikia, and State Organising Secretary Ravindra Raju, all of whom addressed the gathered crowd.
Participants, many of them women and Gen Z voters, carried placards that read ‘Careers Over Chaos’ and called for job creation, quality education and economic opportunities.
The demonstrators praised the Assam government’s recruitment initiatives, describing them as transparent and merit‑based, and highlighted the launch of new medical colleges, infrastructure projects and industrial expansion as tangible achievements.
The rally also turned into a platform for criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the opposition’s stance on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with demonstrators demanding stricter verification to curb illegal immigration.
Some attendees alleged that the Congress opposed the exercise to protect its electoral base, and raised claims of foreign influence against opposition leaders, though no independent verification exists.
Organisers say the turnout exceeded 30,000, a figure that has not been independently confirmed, and the event has already sparked debate over youth engagement in Assam’s political landscape.
