HCLTech shares climbed 1.4% to ₹3,020 after the company announced a Q3 net profit of ₹5,132 crore, up 11% from ₹4,624 crore, and a record headcount of 230,339.
Analysts had pegged earnings at ₹5,080 crore, so the 11‑percent lift beat consensus by ₹52 crore. Revenue rose 3% to ₹35,620 crore, a sequential gain from ₹34,579 crore, though it fell short of the ₹35,819 crore forecast.
The 6,450 net additions include 6,136 freshers, the largest quarterly intake in 16 quarters, pushing the workforce past 230,000 for the first time. Attrition slipped to 12.8%, a modest rise from 12.7% in June, while the female workforce climbed to 30%.
HCLTech raised its lower‑end FY27 constant‑currency revenue growth to 2.5% from 1%, retaining the upper end at 4%. The board also approved an interim dividend of ₹12 per share for FY26‑27.
Industry peers such as TCS also expanded headcount, yet HCLTech’s hiring push aligns with its strategy to bolster delivery capacity. Investors will watch the upcoming March quarter for further guidance and the company’s R&D spend, which climbed to 1.9% of revenue.
