Delhi University suspended three LLB students—Naman, Abhinav Kumar and Abhimanyu Kumar—after a 23 September 2026 FIR alleging they stalked and harassed two Hindu College women in Mukherjee Nagar. The students were also barred from entering university premises.
The alleged assault began after the students left a campus event near the Vijaynagar Haqiqat Park, when Naman, driving a white Tata Safari, stopped them at about 9:30 p.m., complimenting a red T‑shirt bearing the words 'Urban Mindset' before the tone quickly turned hostile.
A first‑year Master’s student recorded the confrontation on Instagram, claiming the men tried to pull her and her friend into the vehicle. "They tried to drag us into the car," she said, adding that the men drove off after her friend recorded.
On 28 September, the Office of the Proctor issued notices under Clause 3(e) of Ordinance XV‑B, defining derogatory remarks toward women as gross indiscipline. The Competent Authority approved the suspensions, effective immediately, and prohibited the students from entering any Delhi University premises.
Delhi Police have launched a criminal investigation and will file charges under the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment Act, while the university plans a review of its disciplinary procedures before reinstatement.
