Suvendu Adhikari Set to Become Bengal Chief Minister, May Appoint Two Deputies

Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP leader who defeated Mamata Banerjee in the recent election, is likely to become the next Chief Minister of West Bengal. According to sources, Adhikari may appoint two deputy chief ministers to assist him, a position that has been vacant in the state for the last two decades.
The potential deputies may include a woman leader, with BJP leader Agnimitra Paul reportedly leading the race for one of the positions. Paul, who won from Asansol Dakshin in the recent election, may become Bengal's first deputy chief minister.
The second deputy chief minister may be appointed from north Bengal, with sources indicating that Nisith Pramanik, a former union minister, is a popular face for the post. Alternatively, a leader from the tribal community may be selected for this role.
The BJP is set to form its first government in West Bengal, and the appointment of Adhikari and his deputies is expected to be a key part of the formation process. The party will likely announce the official appointments in the coming days, with the new government expected to take office soon.
