In a blistering 52‑day odyssey, Greek endurance athlete Asimina Inglezou crossed Nepal’s Great Himalaya Trail on foot, setting a new Guinness World Record of 52 days, 6 hours, 23 minutes for the fastest female finish.
The 1,602‑kilometre route, threaded through Upper Dolpo, Dhorpatan, Upper Mustang and the Everest corridor, demanded over 90,310 metres of positive elevation gain and 88,817 metres of descent. Each step was a battle against altitude, weather, and treacherous passes.
Midway at the 5,000‑metre Dolpo pass, Inglezou’s pace surged, cutting her race time by an hour and leaving Canadian Rachelle Komarnisky trailing by 20 hours.
Les Chevaliers du Vent hailed her as a trailblazer, saying, “Her grit redefines Himalayan endurance for women.”
Now, she’s targeting the 2025 Himalayan Marathon Series, aiming to push the limits further.
