BJP to Elect New Assam Chief Minister on May 10, Swearing-In Set for May 12

The BJP Legislature Party will convene on May 10 to elect the new Chief Minister of Assam, caretaker Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday. The swearing-in ceremony for the incoming government is scheduled for May 12 at 11 AM in Guwahati.
On the same day, a joint meeting of the NDA alliance will be held at 11 AM to formally elect its leader, after which the NDA leadership will meet Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at 12 PM to submit their claim to form the government. Sarma stated that once the Governor grants approval, the government formation process will begin immediately.
The swearing-in event is expected to draw Chief Ministers from 20 states, prominent industrialists, Satradhikars, Vaishnavite religious leaders, and BJP and AGP booth committee presidents. Elected Gaon Panchayat representatives will also attend the ceremony, Sarma said.
