Bike Used in Suvendu Adhikari's Aide Murder Found to be Stolen

Chandranath Rath, an aide to Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead by bike-borne assailants on Wednesday night in North 24 Parganas' Madhyamgram, less than 200 meters away from his home. The incident occurred between 10 and 10:10 pm, and the assailants used a stolen two-wheeler with a West Bengal registration number 'WB44D1990'.
The initial investigation revealed that the bike was registered in the name of Vibhash Kumar Bhattacharya, but the police found no trace of him at the listed address. The residence is occupied by a government employee named Dharamvir, who claimed to have been residing there since 2014 and stated that he does not know anyone named Vibhash.
The police have managed to trace the original bike owner, who informed investigators that his bike had been stolen. Suvendu Adhikari has called the killing of Rath a 'pre-planned' and 'cold-blooded murder' and has set up a special investigative team to investigate the murder.
Chandranath Rath's mother, Hasirani Rath, has blamed the Trinamool Congress for the murder, saying it is their 'gundagardi'. She has demanded life imprisonment for the gunmen and has pinned her hopes on the new government to catch and punish her son's perpetrators. The court will resume hearing on the case soon, with the special investigative team expected to submit its report.
