Two men on a motorcycle fired at Mad Sandhu, a popular Punjabi makeup artist, at the car‑washing point on Loharka Road in Amritsar, killing him on Saturday as he was being followed.
Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill, who inspected the scene, said the attackers tracked him before the shooting and fled the site soon after.
Gill added that investigators have identified the individuals who allegedly carried out the murder and the person who planned it, and that the case may soon produce major disclosures.
The victim, whose real name was Madhusudan, had faced homophobic trolling before his death and was known for embracing his identity with the line ‘God has made me the way I am.’
Police are actively pursuing the two accused men and are preparing to file charges, with a target of arresting them within the next 48 hours.
