Forget the Hollywood gloss. When Lindsay Lohan bought a 7,000-square-foot, four-bedroom villa in Dubai, she didn't want a blank canvas. She wanted a home that felt like her, fast. The couple, who moved to the emirate in 2014 to escape the paparazzi lens, had a strict deadline: they needed to be moved in within two weeks.
Interior designer Kate Instone from Blush took on the challenge. The brief was simple but tricky. Create a relaxed, coastal vibe with soft neutrals and nautical blues, but do it without discarding the pieces Lohan had already collected. The guest bedroom was literally rebuilt from her old apartment's furniture. The dining table, the sofa, the coffee table—it all traveled with her.
It's a refreshingly sustainable approach for a celebrity home. Rather than buying new everything, Lohan kept the bar and the artwork she'd gathered during her travels. In the kitchen, they just slapped vinyl over the existing cabinetry to brighten the space. Three mirrors on the living room wall fixed the dark corners. It’s clever, practical, and saves a fortune.
For the bits that needed new blood, Lohan hit up local Dubai stores like Home & Soul and 2XL. She even converted one of the bedrooms into a dressing room to fit her shoe collection. The result is a house that feels lived-in, not staged. A tapestry she picked out when she first met her husband hangs by the TV, a small, personal touch in a massive space.
