Cyberabad Police Commissioner has directed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kukatpally Zone) Ritiraj to personally supervise the investigation into a PoCSO case registered at Petbasheerabad police station, based on a complaint by a 17-year-old girl alleging sexual abuse during New Year celebrations at a farmhouse in Moinabad. The case has been registered under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, read with Section 12 of the PoCSO Act.
Official orders issued on May 11, 2026, mandate the DCP to ensure the probe is conducted fairly, professionally, and without negligence, with daily status reports to be submitted to the Police Commissioner. The directive emphasizes thorough examination of all case aspects and direct oversight of investigative progress.
The Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken suo motu cognisance of the case following media and social media reports, and has directed the Cyberabad Commissioner to conduct an inquiry and initiate necessary action.
