Gajanan More, a resident of Yavatmal district, was subjected to an attempted electrocution by his wife, Kavdi More, and her alleged lover, Vishnu Kadu, on May 3. The couple had tied an aluminum wire to an electric wire and attached it to the man's body while he was asleep, in an attempt to kill him.
The plan was foiled when the sudden electric shock woke Gajanan More up, and he sustained burns on his upper arms. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the accused on May 8 and recovered the wires used in the murder attempt. A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for attempt to murder and attempt to commit offences.
The court will likely hear the case in the coming days, with the prosecution set to present its evidence against the accused. The police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the attempted electrocution and the events leading up to it.
