Hemanth, a student from Zilla Parishad High School at Cheepurupalli, was taken on a flight journey from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada by the school’s lab assistant, Miriyala Krishna Rao, after securing 581 marks in the SSC examinations.
The United Teachers Federation State Committee congratulated the teachers and school administration for encouraging students in innovative ways.
In another initiative, TDP MLA from Srikalahasti, Bojjala Sudheer Reddy, felicitated three SSC toppers from his constituency and announced that each of them would be given three cents of land as an incentive for academic excellence.
The MLA said the initiative was intended to encourage students to pursue higher education and strive for excellence in academics, and the announcement has attracted widespread attention, with educationists describing it as an unusual yet significant effort to motivate meritorious students.
The state government and education department are expected to take note of these initiatives and consider implementing similar programs to motivate students across Andhra Pradesh.
