Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a series of development initiatives in Kodangal Assembly constituency on May 8, 2026, during a public meeting following foundation stone-laying events, and set completion deadlines for key infrastructure and education projects. Reddy stated that medical, engineering, nursing, and polytechnic colleges, along with a Sainik School, are under development in the constituency and are expected to be completed within 18 months.
Reddy announced the establishment of a 2,300-acre industrial park at Lagacherla and the construction of a major roadway linking Kodangal to the airport, while noting that 90% of the Vikarabad railway line works are complete to boost the local cement industry. He assigned Minister V. Srihari the task of acquiring land for the Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation project, which aims to supply Krishna river water to the area, with a deadline of one year for land acquisition and 12 months for project completion.
The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing welfare schemes including farm loan waivers, distribution of fine rice, Rythu Bharosa, ration supply, and fee reimbursement, and emphasized efforts to improve connectivity in geographically isolated villages and thandas in higher altitude areas. He also laid the foundation stone for a Sri Venkateswara temple in Kodangal, instructing that rituals follow those at Tirupati, while temple constructions in Doulthabad and Kosgi remain underway.
Reddy directed state officials to complete all developmental works in Kodangal by the end of 2027 and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to transforming the constituency into a national model. The government will review progress on these projects in the coming months ahead of scheduled deadlines.
