The Department of Telecommunications presented Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Awards to the police units of Palnadu, NTR, and Eluru districts on Saturday. The awards were given for securing the top three positions in recovering missing or lost mobile phones, with Palnadu district police recovering 4,303 lost mobile phones, achieving a recovery rate of 69.75%.
The awards were presented by DoT Deputy Director General Hemant Rathwe and Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta at Mangalagiri. The NTR Commissionerate stood second with the recovery of 2,929 phones, achieving a recovery rate of 64%, while Eluru district police secured the third position by recovering 2,796 phones, achieving a recovery rate of 62.18%.
Additional Director General of Police N. Madhusudhan Reddy, Inspector General of Police Ch. Srikanth, and DoT Director K. Ram Manohar were among the officials present at the award ceremony.
The police units were recognized for their effective use of the CEIR platform in recovering lost mobile phones. The court or further proceedings are not applicable in this context, however, the Department of Telecommunications will likely continue to monitor and support the police units in their efforts to recover lost mobile phones.
