The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated steps to develop Product Perfection Clusters (PPCs) in the Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati economic regions to transform local products into recognized global brands. The government will act as a facilitator and infrastructure provider, enforcing quality standards to help industries enter overseas markets.
The products identified for global brand recognition include those from the agriculture and horticulture sectors, such as gold jewellery ornaments, solid rocket propellants, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), and cashew kernels.
The government has advised District Collectors to promote local products as raw materials for global brands and has ordered the mobilization of funding resources under schemes like the Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP).
The government will provide assistance to industries in sourcing advanced technologies from various countries, with examples of globally recognized PPCs including the Tenofovir Alafenamide API manufacturing facilities of Hetero Drugs and Laurus Labs.
The government's initiative is expected to boost the export potential of local products, with the next steps involving the implementation of the PPCs and the provision of support to industries to achieve international standards. The state government will closely monitor the progress of the PPCs and provide necessary support to ensure their success.
