Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh clinched gold with a 484.6 score in the 10m air pistol mixed team at the Asian Games, edging out South Korea by seven points.
From the first shot, the pair were in control, posting 103.0 in the opening Stage 1 series and then piling on 202.4 and 303.5 across the next rounds.
Stage 2 saw them blast 364.7 in the first series, keeping South Korea and Iran far behind. After 18 shots, India still led comfortably, extending the gap to 424.9 in the second series.
During the decisive final series, the Indians maintained their advantage, pushing the Korean pair further behind and sealing the gold without a slip.
India’s second medal of the Games follows the women's cricket triumph over Sri Lanka, boosting the country’s overall standing in the medal tally.
With the shooting calendar still packed, the duo will now focus on the upcoming men's 10m air pistol finals as the Games continue to unfold.
